Completed in summer of 1985Denoon is named after a dynamic early Muskego settler who published the
first Norwegian newspaper in the United States and was influential in
shaping the Wisconsin Constitution. His name was James Denoon Reymert.
This 53-acre community park is located in the southwestern portion of
the city on the northwestern shore of Lake Denoon. The site has two
basketball goals, one baseball/softball diamond, picnicking,
horseshoes, playground equipment, soccer fields, snowmobile trails, a
walking trail, an open shelter, portable restrooms, an area designated
for golf, and lake launching access. The playground equipment provided
on the site accommodates ages 2-5 years. Off-street parking is
provided for 52 vehicles. Wetlands and woodlands within the primary
environmental corridor associated with Lake Denoon can also be found at
this site. Lake Denoon provides habitat for the Black Tern, a rare
bird species.
