Lieutenant Richard Rens has been involved in law enforcement since January of 1985.  He has been employed by the Muskego Police Department since April of 1991.  Lieutenant Rens obtained his B.S. degree from Mount Senario College in August of 1998.  He was promoted to Sergeant in February of 2001.

Lieutenant Rens has also attended additional training including Narcotics Investigator training sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Agency, Reid Interview and Interrogation training, Basic SWAT, Sniper training, First Line Supervisor training, and Southern Police Institute’s Command Officer Development Course.

Lieutenant Rens has been a member of the department’s SWAT team since 1994 and is currently the team leader.  He also oversees the department’s Bureau of Identification (B of I) system and its record management system.
